29 Oct Stages of the Vehicle Inspection Process

Every year, the number of vehicles on Ghana’s roads continues to rise and similarly the risk of accidents. We acknowledge that your vehicle’s condition is important with this increase in road activity. Everyone who drives or travels in a vehicle appreciates the regular vehicle safety inspection. How do I go about the vehicle inspection process?
You just have to drive your vehicle into the test centre and park and a member of staff will meet you and allocate you a number for your turn and your car keys left with staff. Please remember to remove all ‘valuables’ from the car. You will then be directed to the reception area where you will proceed to pay for the inspection with the cashier. Our inspector will take over your vehicle and drive it through the inspection lane. At the end of the inspection, you will be awarded the inspection certificate and report (depending on whether you have passed); otherwise you will have to return for a re-inspection within 10 working days where you will not be charged however after when you return after the 10 working days you will pay a fresh fee.

Do I have to drive my vehicle through the inspection lane myself?
No, you do not have to do so. We have trained and experienced inspectors to take over the vehicles before your vehicle enters the inspection lane. Also, the fact that our inspectors are more familiar with the inspection process and equipment facilitates for a faster inspection process and consequently less waiting time for our customers.

Results – Your vehicle has undergone all the inspection stages. Upon passing the stages, you will be presented with the inspection certificate. Should your vehicle fail the inspection, you will be required to return for re-inspection of your vehicle within ten working days at no extra fee for retesting. However if you return for re-inspection after this duration you will be required to pay for a fresh fee. Please try and return within the specific days scheduled.
